K9 Nose Work® - Continuing (All Levels)

Class & Course Details

Continuing K9 Nose Work is a mixed-level, dog-driven class supporting dogs searching for food, toys, and trained odour (including Birch and beyond). Completion of Foundations is required before joining Continuing. Continuing runs in themed 6-week modules throughout the year to provide rhythm and shared learning experiences while still allowing flexibility for mixed-level teams to work at their own pace. Many teams use class packs and attend when they can — it’s always okay to miss weeks, take breaks, or return later. There is no pressure to “move up a level” within Continuing. Long-term skill development happens gradually over time, with dogs and handlers encouraged to progress at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable for them. --- 🟣 Module 1 — Exploration & New Environments 📅 Jan 12/13 – Feb 16/17 • Searching in different locations and contexts • Supporting confidence and adaptability in new environments --- 🟣 Module 2 — Access, Height & Airflow 📅 Mar 9/10 – Apr 13/14 • Exploring how odour moves through environments • Building confidence around access, height, and problem-solving --- 🟣 Module 3 — Search Decisions & Strategy 📅 May 4/5 – Jun 8/9 • Practising thoughtful, dog-led searching • Supporting handler observation and decision-making --- 🟣 Module 4 — Searching Through Complexity 📅 Jun 29/30 – Aug 3/4 • Working through environmental background odour and novelty • Maintaining calm searching through increasing complexity -- 🟣 Module 5 — Search Flow & Endurance 📅 Aug 24/25 – Sept 28/29 • Sustaining thoughtful searching across larger areas • Building motivation, persistence, and search rhythm --- 🟣 Module 6 — Integration & Celebration 📅 Oct 19/20 – Nov 23/24 • Bringing skills together through varied and seasonal searches • Celebrating growth, confidence, and teamwork throughout the year
